For those who try to root HTC Legend or Desire using Goldcard and method Modaco I have some advices to help.
Often there are 2 problems:
1. ADB drivers cannot be installed via google sdk. Just download HTC Sync from htc page and it works.
2. When executing “adb shell cat /sys/class/mmc_host/mmc1/mmc1:*/cid” You got message that there is no such file or directory. It’s beacouse the Micro SD card is visible as something else than mmc1 in system . You can check it with command “adb shell ls /sys/class/mmc_host/” run from the same directory. After getting proper adress like mmc0 or something else just modify “adb shell cat” command.
Hope this will help someone. I have spent 2 hours trying to put Modaco rom to work with Goldcard method and find those 2 steps not quite clear.
